Dear fellow Club Members: The membership renewal season is fast upon us all so we're (The Board and Officers) are taking time to communicate and clarify renewal issues that seem to plague us year after year. It is important to remind everybody how hard the Board and Officers work, most notably Club Secretary Steve Cox, regarding the renewal process. Most notably Steve. Steve is the point man for renewals. He spends countless hours validating renewals and sending out cards and keys. It is a thankless job and a cruel taskmaster.(More on cards and keys later). So without further adieu, I jump right in. YOUR MEMBERSHIP PROFILE NOW IS THE TIME to logon to your membership profile to ensure that, (a) You can logon; (b) That your information in the profile is up-to-date and accurate. Waiting until you renew to do this adds to our work and dealing with profile challenges in the midst of renewals make a hard job that much more difficult. Think ahead, plan ahead and be organized. It takes all of about 3 minutes. Please ensure the NRA Membership is current. "I DON'T USE COMPUTERS." Okay...That's fine.I encourage those members to enlist a family member in assisting along the way. There is no judgement or condemnation for any member choosing not to use computers, but humbly it is requested that those members not secretarialize club officers and directors for that purpose. MEMBERSHIP DUES This has been a tough year for Londonderry Fish & Game Club. Costs to operate the Club have substantially increased at all levels. Therefore, as stated in the last several Newsletters, ( and voted in the affirmative in April) the membership fees have increased as follows: ***Above fees do not reflect a 3% processing fee charged when remitted on line. Dues payments may be remitted two ways: Officers Hours. There will be three days in the month of October when Officers will be at the Club from 7pm-9am to collect cash payments. There will also be one Saturday from 10-Noon. As a rule, WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH PAYMENTS and we make an exception only on these days ( specific days to be announced at a later date). RENEWAL PERIODS Please, plan ahead. There will be no exceptions made. These hard and fast dates are necessary that we may know exactly how many new members LFGC can receive. CARDS AND KEYS LFGC endeavors...(specifically, Steve Cox), to send out the new cards and keys in a timely and efficient manner. In fact, I will say to you this is personally important to Steve. Steve Cox has always given his very very best to LFGC. And in my humble opinion, he does an absolutely outstanding job. Despite his efforts, we continue to receive many mailed cards and keys back with "forwarding addresses" that had expired. I don't know how to cure this problem. Honestly, it isn't mine to cure. It is up to the individual members to take a few minutes to ensure their information is accurate. Inversely, we are not going to chase after members. It is up to individual members to ensure address information in the profile is correct, accurate and up to date. Cards do get lost in the mail system. Last year, we had about a dozen. Summarily, If you have not received your card and key within 20 days of renewal, please send an email stating the date you renewed. NOT "You haven't sent my card and key! What's the hold up?" The few snotty members often discover that we tend to move a bit slower when such emails are received. Remember, we are processing upwards of 1,500 memberships in a very short period of time. None of us are paid salaries to do this and we balance our time spent in between everything else in life. But, we absolutely do have a system to do this and I think we all do it well. If there is a failure, it is not likely happening on this end. But either way, we will ensure that you have your renewed card and key in time for the lock change. That is our commitment to the membership body. On behalf of all the Officers and Board members, Thank you for taking the time out to read this communication. It is our hope that the information provided is both helpful and useful as we move forward into 2022. Sincerely, LONDONDERRY FISH & GAME CLUB, INC.
